Upcoming Service in Honor of the Four Chaplains

On February 3 at 7 PM, we invite you to join us for a special service honoring the heroic sacrifice of the Four Chaplains Lt. George L. Fox, Lt. Alexander D. Goode, Lt. John P. Washington, and Lt. Clark V. Poling, whose courage and unity aboard the USAT Dorchester in 1943 continue to inspire people of all faiths.

As the Dorchester was sinking, these four chaplains comforted soldiers, distributed life jackets, and ultimately gave up their own so others could live. Linked arm-in-arm, they were last seen praying together as the ship went down—an enduring symbol of compassion, sacrifice, and interfaith unity.

 Featured Speaker:
Lisa Hirbour, granddaughter of Rev. George L. Fox
Lisa works to preserve her grandfather’s legacy through historic restoration, museum development, and public education at the chapel he once served.

A reception will follow the service. The event is free, but we ask that you register if you plan to attend the reception to help us prepare. Use the button below to RSVP.

For questions, contact Maeve Vogan.

We hope you’ll join us as we remember the Four Chaplains and reflect on their lasting legacy of courage and unity.
