Examining the role of Muhlenberg, a German-speaking, Lutheran pastor, Anglican priest, colonel and brigadier general in the Continental Arm. Maximus Marlowe (MA, University of Chicago, 2025; BS, Liberty University, 2024) is a historian of the early modern Atlantic world. His research focuses on religion, empire, and social change, with particular attention to how the Church of England governed religious pluralism in colonial North America.
