Vietnam War Veterans Day
National Vietnam War Veterans Day Commemoration
Saturday, April 11, 2026 | 11:00 a.m.
Washington Memorial Chapel, Valley Forge
Join us for a special service honoring the men and women who served in the Vietnam War. This observance offers our community the opportunity to express gratitude for nearly three million Americans who served during one of the most challenging periods in our nation’s history, and to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Our guest speaker will be Colonel Sherwood “Woody” D. Goldberg, U.S. Army (Ret.), a Vietnam War veteran and highly decorated Infantry officer who served two tours with the 1st Infantry Division (The Big Red One). Following his military service, Colonel Goldberg served as a senior advisor in United States national security and diplomatic affairs.
Vietnam Veterans Day, observed annually on March 29, marks the day in 1973 when the last United States combat troops left Vietnam. Designated by Congress in 2012, the day honors the service, courage, and resilience of Vietnam veterans.
The service is free and open to all. Those planning to attend lunch following the service are asked to RSVP using the barcode or the button below.
Questions may be directed to the Veterans Commission.
