25th Anniversary 9/11 Remembrance Service

On Friday, September 11, 2026, at 6:30 p.m., Washington Memorial Chapel and the Veterans Commission invite the community to gather for a special service marking the 25th Anniversary of September 11, 2001.

As we pause to remember the lives lost and the countless acts of courage and sacrifice that followed, we will reflect on how that day shaped our nation and strengthened our commitment to one another. The service will begin in the Chapel and continue with a procession to the grave of Louis J. Nacke II, a local hero of Flight 93, where prayers will be offered and bells will be tolled in remembrance.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to honor the victims, first responders, military service members, and all whose lives were forever changed by the events of September 11. We invite all members of the community to join us as we remember, reflect, and reaffirm the spirit of unity and resilience that emerged from tragedy.
