Join Us for the Patriot Day 9/11 PT Challenge – Honor. Sweat. Remember.

The Washington Memorial Chapel Veterans Commission invites you to participate in the 2nd Annual Patriot Day 9/11 PT Challenge, to honor SSG Marc Small and all veterans of the Global War on Terror (GWOT).

 Date: Saturday, September 12, 2026 

Time: 8:00 A.M. 

Location: Washington Memorial Chapel Grounds 

Registration Fee: $15

The Challenge (3 Rounds for Time):

Row 1,000 meters

50 Burpees

50 Box Jumps

Run 800 meters

This event is open to ages 16 and up and is scalable for all fitness levels. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or simply looking to push yourself for a meaningful cause, your participation supports the ongoing mission of the Veterans Commission.

Let’s unite in remembrance and action. Every drop of sweat honors the legacy of SSG Marc Small and those we commemorate on Patriot Day.

About SSG Marc Small

U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Marc Small, 29, of Collegeville, PA, served with the 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) at Fort Bragg, NC. He was killed in action on February 12, 2009, in Faramuz, Afghanistan, during an attack involving a rocket-propelled grenade and small arms fire.
